Beginner - classical, Celtic and bluegrass
Violinist, singer, and guitarist Paris Klein has spent nearly her whole life playing music. She began playing the violin at the age of 5 and has had the opportunity to learn techniques and develop her skills from many talented musicians over the past 15 years of her life. After spending many years focusing on classical music, she was introduced to folk, Celtic, and bluegrass music. Soon thereafter, she could be heard playing and singing in groups such as Fiddlers of The Wind, and Gabriel’s Crossing. She has performed at The Poppy festival, Music in the Pines, Huck Finn, and the Calico Bluegrass Festival. Paris has also been working alongside the Fiddlers of the Wind group to debut their first CD which is scheduled to come out within the next year.
While Paris has always enjoyed entertaining audiences on stage, one of her most cherished musical outlets is teaching what she has learned to others. She once stated that, “It is such a joy to see the love of music growing within a student.” Paris has had many opportunities to watch this love grow. She has volunteered to teach basic music classes to groups of children at a small school in Wrightwood, and later taught a large number of these students in the off seasons. She has also taught lessons to students of many ages and levels in her own home.
Paris emphasizes the techniques that help a violinist create beautiful music such as posture, and intonation, while also coaxing students to try new styles of music. She hopes that each of her students will not only learn from her teaching, but also enjoy the instrument and the music it makes.
