Carols, Cantatas, and Candles…Oh My!
This concert, which offered music in the spirit of the season, was serene and magical. The musical instruments of harp, piano, organ, harpsichord, flute, clarinet and contrabass clarinet resounded nicely in the church, which was decorated for the holidays. With the addition of operatic vocalists and trumpet, the performance ascended to a level of joyous dynamics. (Quoted from the Mountaineer Progress, December 15, 2016).

Jazz, Fine Wine and a View...oh my!!
Walter K Foley, Program Director for this concert, put together a top notch jazz ensemble, including world renowned jazz bassist Marshall Hawkins and saxophonist Wynell Montgomery. Local jazz drummer Alan Winkel and pianist/vocalist Lynn Davison rounded out the talented ensemble. The energy between the band and the audience was electric and emotional, to the degree that it brought tears to the eyes of more than a few audience members. The caliber of the music was world class. The audience was on their feet before the last note of the first song faded. The wine pairing dinner which followed, was catered by Kim Vodden and was delicious in every way. Tables settings were created by Collette Budd and were lovely to behold. Alex Peterson was host for the event, which was held in her home. The attendees were able to view the desert floor from one vantage point and the forest from another. It was a fabulous evening for all!
